Yankees’ Joey Gallo posts LinkedIn profile during MLB lockdown
Joey Gallo has jokes.
After seeing Bryce Harper make overtures to a team in Japan, Gallo posted footage of his true (if not ironic) LinkedIn profile as hope continues to fade that MLB players and owners will reach a new collective bargaining agreement that will prevent missed games this season.
Gallo listed his current and former employers — the Yankees and Texas Rangers — and his education at Biship Gorman High School.
Somewhat amusingly, Gallo listed his “skills” as punching, punching in the shift, and dressing weird.
In fact, Gallo recently advocated getting rid of change.
“I get the defensive strategies,” noted switch target Joey Gallo told The Athletic last summer. “I do. I’m 100% not against it. But I think at some point you have to fix the game a bit. I mean, I don’t understand how I’m supposed to hit a double or a triple while I have six guys standing in the outfield.
He spoke to the point of sale again in a recent story.
“I think most hitters are pretty adamant about the change, that they have to do something with it,” Gallo said. “I don’t really see a lot of hitters saying, ‘The change is pretty awesome, man. They have to keep this. I think people understand that hitting is hard enough – but when you have guys standing in different positions where it’s almost impossible to get hits, that makes it even harder, obviously.
Gallo lost 29 hits and gained just 14 due to the changeover last season — a net loss of 15 base hits.
