These Free LinkedIn Learning Courses Can Help You Get Promoted at Work

Out of thousands of LinkedIn Learning courses, people who got promoted in 2020 turned to 15 courses to help them develop their skills.

Looking at data from tens of thousands of people who took courses in the year before a promotion between November 2019 and October 2020, LinkedIn compared these users’ top courses to the average user. Below, you’ll find the 15 courses that have recently promoted “over-indexed” professionals.

For example, according to the company, people who were recently promoted watched the Go from Individual Contributor to Manager course five times more than the average learner on the site.

The list isn’t exactly surprising – many are designed to give advice on how to handle increased responsibilities, while others focus on technical skills such as software development, project management and sales. ; These are among the most in-demand skills in the job market, according to research from LinkedIn and Microsoft.

Beyond developing new skills or demonstrating an aptitude, online courses also signify a willingness to learn and, often, a candidate’s ability to take initiative.

LinkedIn regularly uses its data to illustrate labor market opportunities and trends, including through its economic chart that analyzes labor markets and publishes reports. Last month, LinkedIn offered free online courses based on the skills most likely to get people hired in 2021.
