Workload automation is an essential part of digital transformation. It can enable practitioners to plan and execute business process workflows, optimize data transfer and processing, and reduce errors and delays in the execution of business processes themselves.
Businesses currently have three main approaches to modernization and digital transformation.
The first is that they are still investing in some cases in legacy systems that could be distributed. The second approach is that companies are looking to readjust and reorganize with a lift-and-shift approach for the different applications to run on the cloud. Finally, they are looking to rebuild and reinvent their applications to become cloud-native.
All these different strategies have one thing in common: business processes are interconnected with heterogeneous platforms and systems that bring together challenges and risks.
“Application workloads are no longer housed in predefined data centers and are now distributed across multiple clouds, which poses a challenge that they must be managed and mitigated,” said Francesca Curzi, global head of sales at HCL software for workload automation, mainframe and data. Platform.
Customers should take a systematic approach, avoiding islands of automation where each context is handled by a different tool. Organizations also need to manage their data feeds as more data becomes available. Here, file transfer capability becomes increasingly important to be truly interconnected, Curzi added.
The new HCL Workload Automation v.10 launched on March 4 offers unique technology to enable this kind of digital transformation and address these challenges. He can perform any type of work anywhere: on premises or in the cloud on the cloud of his choice. The tool leverages historical workload execution data with AI to expose observable data and provide an improved operational experience.
“It removes those islands of automation in different applications and brings unique capabilities with advanced models to market,” said Marco Cardelli, HWA Senior Product Manager.
HCL Workload Automation can optimize data transfers and processing by leveraging a single point of control and integration for MFT, RPA and Big Data applications.
Planners and operators will benefit from the tool’s flexibility and executives can feel more secure with robust, market-leading technology that supports business continuity.
All the plugins provided with the new version make it possible to orchestrate different applications without the need to write a script to manage them. Users of Workload Automation v.10 have a documentation plugin panel in the web UI to specifically define the type of work they want and they only need to provide parameters for the orchestrate.
The solution offers ERP integrations like SAP, Oracle E-Business, PeopleSoft and big data integrations like Informatica, Hadoop, Cognos, DataStage, etc. It offers multiple ways to manage message queues, web services, restful APIs, and more.
Last but not least, HCL is also automating some RPA tools, providing the ability to orchestrate the execution of bots, including on Automation Anywhere on Blue Prism, as well as IBM RPA planned for this year.
Users will also benefit from AI and ML capabilities. Version 10 offers anomaly detection and identification of patterns in workload execution.
“In the future, we also want to address noise reduction related to product alerts and messages to help our operators troubleshoot work issues, providing root cause analysis and suggesting self-repair based on historical data, and also to improve the usability of the dynamic workload console by allowing AI to help customers define objects to find features, etc.,” Curzi said.
There is also a new component called AI Data Advisory available for containers. It uses big data machine learning in LED analysis technologies on workload automation data and provides anomaly detection. At this stage, it is possible to use a specific user interface that provides analysis of historical data for jobs and workstations, which gives more power to operators.
With digital transformation, organizations can leverage the most advanced workload planning solution, managed file transfer, and real-time monitoring capabilities for continuous automation. Plus, organizations can stay in control of their automation processes from a single point of access and monitoring! For more information, Click here.
