is now LinkedIn Learning – Eagle News Online

CICERO –, an online leader for professional development courses and skill building tutorials, has been offering as a digital resource to library cardholders since 2015. More recently it has changed hands and is now LinkedIn Learning.

To use LinkedIn Learning from the library, you don’t need a LinkedIn account to get started. LinkedIn Learning is specially designed for libraries with default privacy settings approved by The American Library Association (ALA). When library cardholders first use LinkedIn Learning, they’ll have a quick setup to complete. After that, the information, current courses, and course history will be moved to a new LinkedIn Learning account.

Experts teach the more than 1,600 courses offered through LinkedIn Learning in their respective fields and range from beginner to advanced level; covering a wide variety of topics such as marketing, software, CAD, animation and photography, job search, website design, business and management skills, programming and much more.

“LinkedIn Learning is an incredible digital resource,” says Terry Morris, Adult Services Librarian at the Cicero branch. “People can take an unlimited number of lessons at their own pace 24 hours a day! “

It’s amazing value too: an individual LinkedIn Learning membership typically costs $ 30 per month or $ 240 per year, but at the library all you need is your card number and PIN.

Each Self-Paced course is divided into easy-to-complete segments that include audio, video, and text transcripts and are accessible on a computer or mobile device with the LinkedIn Learning app. Certificates of completion are available at the end of the course and can be integrated directly into a user’s LinkedIn profile if desired.

To get started, visit our Stream and Download menu at and have your library card and PIN ready. If you need a card or PIN, or have questions about LinkedIn Learning, please contact your nearest NOPL branch.
